Cats Weekly

My favorite cat: by Kelsy
Birman
The Birman cat falls somewhere between Siamese and the Persian in its character. The Birman has a long silky coat of fur. They are gentle, individualistic and extremely loyal. The Birman has almost round, deep clear blue eyes. Their grooming is relatively easy with regular brushing and combing. All Birmans are born white and they start developing their colors at the age of one week if they have a dark color and at the age of four-teen days or more if they have a clear color.

My favorite cat: Izzy
My favorite cat is a blue Persian. They are very fluffy and have a very unique color about them -- it’s like a brown with a little shade of blue. Their faces are somewhat squashed against their faces so they look super cute. Most blue Persians have orange-red eyes and small ears. They became very popular in royalty because Queen Elizabeth had 2 blue Persians and Princess Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein was an enthusiastic breeder. Caring for Persian cats is important because their fur is thick it’s very hard to wash them. Grooming daily would help keep them clean. The blue Persian was one of the first Persian cats to be established as a breed. In the late 1800s, it became asset for the wealthy and aristocratic. Blue Persians and regular Persian cats are very expensive. They can range from 500$-1000$ and over. I wish I could have a blue Persian but they are just too expensive.

My favorite cat: Alanna
The sphynx
The sphynx is known for its lack of fur. Most sphynxes have wedge shaped heads and sturdy bodies. Sphynxes have a high level of energy, they are very intelligent and also very curious. Bathing your sphynx is very important. You should bathe your sphynx weekly. Sphynxes should never be allowed outside because they can develop sunburns and skin damage. Sphynxes originate from Egypt.

CAT CARE
The top 4 combs for cats are: Flea remover, a slight groomer, Ball-tipped brush, Slicker tail brush. We recommend IAMS cat food; it is very good for the teeth. Also Friskies cat food, it’s better for the health and older cats and yummy flavors. Cleaning is very easy. Clean the cat once a month.
TAIL TALK
Angry; tail strait up and fully puffed out or bristled.
Greetings and affection; tail straight up and quivering a bit.
Intensely afraid; tail held and puffed out or bristled.
